Sunflower Studio features the work of florist Janine Lapsley. Originally from Derbyshire, Janine started her training in Floristry at the age of sixteen at Broomfield College in Morley, Derbyshire. There she undertook and passed a three year City & Guilds Floristry course.
qualified
While studying, Janine worked with local florists and after graduation started her own business in Chesterfield, where she quickly gained a reputation for innovative design and first class customer service. After seven years as proprietor of a very successful business, Janine gave up work to concentrate on her young family.
inspiration
It was when Janine moved to this area and spoke to local Florists she learned of the lack of properly trained staff who have the skills and knowledge to move beyond the restrictive Interflora / Teleflower type design standards. Aware that customers in Central Scotland should have the same access to contemporary and imaginative floral design services as those in her more metropolitan homeland, Janine decided the best way to achieve this was to start up in business once again - and the idea for Sunflower Studio was born.

Sunflower Studio aims to be more than a Florist. The aim of the Studio is to provide floral design and consultation services for those looking for something different - something that bit more special. Brides-to-be, corporate clients and private individuals can all benefit from the impressive skills and creative flair that are the basis of Janine's work.
the future
Janine's short term aim for the studio is to establish a reputation as a center for innovative and even challenging design, and with it, of course, a healthy customer base. In the longer term, Janine hopes that her service can help spread the word about the options available to those in the area looking for floral services and perhaps even grow enough to provide training resources for those just starting out in the industry.
